Bullying should stop

"When people hurt you over and over, think of them like a sandpaper. They may scratch and hurt you a bit, but in the end, you end up polished and they end up useless."
           - Chris Colfer

According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, bullying is an abuse and mistreatment of someone vulnerable by someone stronger, more powerful. It is the actions and behavior of a bully.

There are types of bullying. First is physical bullying, second is verbal bullying, third is social bullying, and last is cyberbullying.

Everyday, many people have been suffered from bullying. They bully other people because of their physical appearance, status in life, by their characteristics, and many more. Many victims of bullying suffering from depression and they think that they are useless and they think of doing suicide to end their life.

If you are suffering from bully, you must be strong and brave. Show them how strong and brave you are. Don't lose hope because God is there to help, guide, and protect you. We must respect one another because God created us uniquely.

I Reflect

The learning or discoveries that I have gained in our subject ICT in 4th Quarter is all about Adobe Photoshop. In Adobe Photoshop, I've learned on how to create original artwork, manipulate color images, and retouch photographs.

The problems or challenges that I have encountered are having a lack of sleep, and also stress.

I address these challenges by trusting God because I know that he is there to help me in all of my daily problems. Also, I address these challenges to my family and friends because when I have problems, they advice and comforting me.

Moving on, I will become a better person and I will not give up on every problems that comes in my life.

Follow Your Dreams

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
       - Eleanor Roosevelt

Most people I know have a dream. In fact, I’ve asked hundreds, if not thousands, of people about their dream. Some willingly describe it with great detail and enthusiasm. Others are reluctant to talk about it. They seem embarrassed to say it out loud. These people have never tested their dream. They don’t know if others will laugh at them. They’re not sure if they’re aiming too high or too low. They don’t know if their dream is something they can really achieve or if they’re destined to fail.

My dream is to be a doctor. Why I like to become a doctor is, it is a noble profession. In fact, I don't want to be a doctor for only patients but for the needy too. Well, it's not always the same story from the beginning, in fact, it was totally different. When I was a little girl, I didn't actually wanted to be a doctor and never was worried about it. All I used to think was being a singer. Of course, that was a dream for me which I wished to come true. It included of me always singing silly songs and even recording and playing them back. But soon circumstances changed, I grew up and came to know my real destiny. Although, I showed interest in studies from the beginning but singing was something which I used to do every time, whether I be studying or playing. Many may call it as craziness but this was me as a kid. But as I mentioned earlier, I grew up to know where I belong and concentrated on it.

Every person in this world does have a dream or an ambition which one wants to fulfill during his or her life. This very dream encourages you to do better and better and move towards your goal. Not everything you think of can be your dream. Some things are just a part of the fascination you grow up with during your childhood.

Kannawidan Ylocos Festival 2020

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the "Kannawidan Festival."

It is a celebration that lasts from the last week of January  up to the first week of February. Included in the course of events is the commemoration of the foundation day of the province.

A royal decree dated February 2, 1818 separated Ylokos. The northern part became Ilocos Norte while the southern part became Ilocos Sur which then included the northern part of La Union and all of what is now the province of Abra. In 1854, the province of La Union was created out of the towns that had heretofore belonged to Ilocos Sur and Pangasinan. Soon thereafter, Abra likewise became independent.

There was a tribal performance of the cultural communities of Ilocos Sur, which is so fascinating. They displayed their talents as well as their indigenous costumes. Partuat ken Patanor Trade Fair showcased the products of the province such as longganisa, bagnet, garlic, bibingka, tinubong, and many other foods including handicrafts. Choir competition was also held.

Time for Change

"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending."
                 - C.S. Lewis

Blessed with intellect and a set of skills, we, the human race, have been placed on Earth for a purpose, and it is our duty in life to discover exactly what that purpose is. As stated in the Bible, "to whom much is given, much is expected." I believe giving back to society is quite simply, a responsibility.

Change happens whether we like it or not and regardless of whether we do anything about it. Tomorrow will be different than today. We can resist, but that is a bit like standing in a river and trying to hold back the water-useless. We have a choice to watch change passively happening around us, or to participate and lead it.

Most people who say they don't like change mean they don't like when it happens to them, but they don't mind if they are the ones initiating the change. We'd rather be the changer than the change.

Changing begins with improving who we are on the inside. We each have a unique identity and our own distinct thoughts. These thoughts often propel us to act. So, by mindfully centering our thoughts in a positive direction, we can improve our actions and thus our character.

Fiesta of Vigan City

Vigan City is a popular tourist destination because of its museums and architecture. Still, it is also known for its longganisa which is a local kind of salami. The dish is made in accordance with a century-old tradition and has a truly unique taste. Although, there were several tries to replicate the combination of spicy meat, sugarcane vinegar, and garlic, no one can compete with local chefs.

This January, Vigan celebrates City Fiesta and Longganisa Festival is included in the festive program. It's normally celebrated around January 22nd to January 25th—the dates vary from year to year. During the festival, every tourist has a chance to try authentic longganisa from Vigan. Locals and tourists gather to experience and see the street dancing, carnivals, food fairs, and arts and crafts, adding to the attraction of this UNESCO World Heritage City.

Participants from the different neighboring provinces in the northern region are also sent to compete in the various games and activities, particularly the street dancing competition. This participation by other municipalities makes the Vigan City Fiesta not only a local event participated in by Vigan’s officials, but a national event participated in by other local public heads and national officials.
