Awareness of Environment

Margaret Mead said, “We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment.” Environment is the surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal or plant lives or operates.

In every month of November, we are celebrating the environment awareness month. It is by virtue of Republic Act No. 9512 signed on December 12, 2008. DENR Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje said that activities stated for the nationwide celebrations would “ensure that the seed environmentalism will be planted and nurtured and become a way of life for most, if not all, Filipinos.” Most of the activities on environmental awareness center on climate change and solid waste management.

Environment plays an important tole in the healthy living of human beings. It matters because it is the only home that humans have, and it provides air, food, and other needs.
